Make money on your wardrobe with consignment

Consignment allows you to make money from your wardrobe, without any of the hassle or stress that renting involves. How good!

The beauty of consigning is that we take care of all the marketing, bookings, postage and cleaning for you. Your dress will be treated as one of our own. All you have to do is drop off or post your garment(s) to the Dressed By Jess store.

We accept dresses size 6-16 that have been purchased in the last 18 months, with a minimum RRP of $250.

When your dress is hired, the hire fee is split 40% to you and 60% to us. Don’t worry, we will still do 100% of the work for you! Your stipend will be paid to your bank account in the first week of every month, for hires made in the previous month.

Consignment garments will have a trial period of 3 months. If they do not receive any bookings during this time, they will be removed from the DBJ website and you will be notified that the garment is ready for pick up from the store.

Please keep in mind that a successful rental garment is one that gets worn numerous times. As such, we do not recommend consigning any dresses that have special or sentimental value. It is normal for minor wear to accumulate over time, such as light pulls, scuffs or small marks. Minor damages that require repair such as torn hemlines or broken straps will be completed by the DBJ Seamstress, at the cost of the customer. Major damages that require replacement of the dress are also to be paid by the customer who hired the garment.

Sadly, theft of hires can occur, although exceedingly rare. It is a risk we take as a business, and one that you therefore take by choosing to rent your dresses too.
