Hey, that’s me! I’m Jess, owner and founder of Dressed By Jess. I am an avid scuba diver, I like to crochet in my spare time and am a massive foodie! I also have always dreamed of being a doctor, so I balance running DBJ with full-time study and in 2024 will start work as a junior doctor.
Medicine was my childhood dream, whilst owning a successful business is the dream I stumbled across as an adult. The juggle is not easy, but I find that having something to stress about that isn’t medicine-related helps keep me sane.
Since it all began in 2018, Dressed By Jess has grown beyond my wildest imagination – it’s crazy to look back and see how far we’ve come. Thank you for coming along for the ride, we wouldn’t be here without the support of our wonderful community.
This journey began in 2018 as a means to a wardrobe I wanted but otherwise couldn’t afford as a 21 year old student. It all started with one outfit that I was renting on Facebook. Things quickly progressed and I soon brought my wonderful Mum on board.
Up until 2023 we operated from home, splitting the roles within the business 50/50. These were massive commitments for us both and balancing work with study has been really hard at times. However, seeing this grow has been immensely fulfilling.
By the end of 2022, Mum was ready to retire and I began the process of looking for staff and a storefront. I was lucky enough to find Emily & Bianca who have been wonderful assets to the team. We began operating from our new Osborne Park store in February 2023 and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for DBJ.
Our mission is to provide our customers with a personalised experience that exceeds their expectations, with a diverse range of high quality dresses and detailed knowledge of our product.
Our vision is to become Perth’s go-to hire destination, known for our premium customer service and vast range of dresses. The ultimate goal is to expand our size range into sizes 20+ and above.
